Et hop, c'est parti!… Visite du Studio-B&H où je retrouve avec plaisir  Michel Suissa, Post-production Solutions Expert de la célèbre enseigne new-yorkaise, qui me présente avec enthousiasme les avantages de la carte accélératrice de  1.6TB de ioFX.
Rencontre d'Alexis Van Hurkman, le célèbre étalonneur américain, auteur du manuel DaVinci Resolve et des tutoriaux de Ripple Training sur le sujet ; une superbe dédicace de son livre The Color Correction Handbook (véritable bible des étalonneurs) et un partage d'expériences très enrichissant : un grand moment !
Sur le stand Assimilate Scratch, je rejoins les trois mousquetaires : Nacho Mazzini, Vice President Sales, Daniel Esperanssa, Assimilator Europe & South East Asia et Ezequiel Sarser, Sales Director Europe pour une démo du Scratch V8 (Any camera, any workflow from dailies to DI) et la présentation de la Range Rover ((Radar)) Remote de Radar Mobile Studios équipée Scratch Lab et multi-touch screen pour les heureux DIT on-set : royal !
Time flies, let's go!… I'm specially delighted to see again Michel Suissa, Post-production Solutions Expert for The Studio-B&H, department of the famous New York store ; he's very enthousiastic to show me the huge advantages of using a 1,6TB ioFX's accelerator card.
Nice encounter with Alexis Van Hurkman, the famous american colorist, author of the DaVinci Resolve Manual and several video tutorials about this color grading software, released by Ripple Training; a wonderful signing of his best-seller The Color Correction Handbook (an absolute bible for color graders) and an exciting tchat about our respective experiences as colorists: truly a great moment!
At Assimilate Scratch, I catch up with the three musketeers: Nacho Mazzini, Vice President Sales, Daniel Esperanssa, Assimilator Europe & South East Asia et Ezequiel Sarser, Sales Director Europe for an exclusive Scratch V8 demo (Any camera, any workflow from dailies to DI) and the presentation of the Radar Mobile Studios' ((Radar)) Remote Range Rover all equiped with a Scratch Lab system and a multi-touch screen for happy on-set DIT's: wow!

Chez Blackmagick Design, pléthore de nouveautés dont DaVinci Resolve 10 et le SmartScope Duo, mais tous les yeux sont rivés sur les caméras. Je suis bluffée par la Pocket Cinema Camera (HD) et sa grande sœur la Production Camera 4K qui, assurément, démocratisent le marché. Munies d'objectifs cinéma et correctement accessoirisées elles sont étonnantes de rendu. Suis pressée de voir ça en tournage et à l'étalonnage… Reste à espérer que les livraisons se feront moins attendre que pour la 2,5K!
On the huge Blackmagic Design' stand, lots of new stuff as DaVinci Resolve 10 and the SmartScope Duo, but everyone's eyes are turned towards the cameras. I'm dazzled by the Pocket Cinema Camera (HD) and it's big sister the Production Camera 4K that, definitely, democratize the market. Equiped with cinema lenses and correctly accessorized they're astonishing. I can't wait to see the result while shooting and grading… Let's hope BMD will deliver much faster than for the 2,5K version!

Sur le Stand de Pomfort créateur de Livegrade, la D16 de Digital Bolex séduit les fans de vintage car outre son look, elle permet de retrouver les flares d'antan ! 
Chez RED, l'aquarium est en fait un labo qui upgrade en direct les capteurs 5K en 6K, c'est à dire ceux qui seront d'origine dans la RED Dragon et qu'il fera bon d'accompagner de la nouvelle RED ROCKET-X.
Les incroyables mires de DSC labs. Et l'impressionnante Canon EOS C500 (4K) munie d'un 30-300mm.
At Pomfort's, Livegrade's developer, the Digital Bolex' D16 charms all vintage's fan with its look and the antique flares it can produce!
On RED' stand, the aquarium is in fact a lab upgrading on-set 5K sensors to 6K, which are the ones that'll be originally delivered with the RED Dragon, that'll be better to marry with a new RED ROCKET-X.

Le soir, au Supermeet, organisé à l'hôtel Rio, comme toute l'assemblée, je suis scotchée par la démo wireless live du MōVI, le nouveau stabilisateur de Firefly Systems, présenté par son instigateur Vincent Laforêt réalisateur-photographe (ingé-lumière pour l'occasion) ; une semaine après sa présentation au NAB NCIS Los Angeles a déjà utilisé avec succès un prototype qui suscite l'engouement général de la profession.
Alexis Van Hurkman nous offre une présentation magistrale des nouvelles fonctionnalités de DaVinci Resolve 10 (notamment Online editor, Open FX, Onset tool…) dans un temps record ! 
Puis Al Mooney, Adobe Premiere Pro Product Manager, nous révèle les nouvelles intéractions dans la CS7 : intégration du moteur de Speedgrade dans Premiere Pro, de celui de Cinema 4D dans After Effects et de la création de looks, dans Speedgrade, à partir de fichiers Photoshop, entre autres…).
Voici donc pour les highlights de la soirée qui, comme chaque année, se termine tel un feu d'artifice par une tombola monstrueuse de machines et autres pluggins offerts par les sponsors dont le grand prix n'est pas moins que le Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve System comprenant la célèbre console d'étalonnage du fabricant !
La soirée est déjà bien avancée, il me reste à retrouver mes camarades à la soirée AJA au Marquee pour finir ce marathon en beauté et bientôt reprendre le chemin de l'aéroport, pour New York…
Donc un premier NAB Show époustouflant, à l'échelle américaine, bien loin de nos salons nationaux : vivement l'année prochaine où je ne manquerai pas de réserver plusieurs jours afin d'en profiter sans modération ! 
Later at the Supermeet, organized at the Rio Hotel, like everyone in the public, I stay stunned by the wireless live demo of the MōVI, a new Firefly Systems' gyro stabilizer, presented by its instigator Vincent Laforêt director-photographer (lighting-engineer on this occasion) ; one week after its presentation at the NAB Show, NCIS Los Angeles has already used with success a prototype, arousing infatuation in Hollywood.
Alexis Van Hurkman makes a masterly demo of DaVinci Resolve 10's new features (Online editor, Open FX, Onset tool…) in a record time!
Then Al Mooney, Adobe Premiere Pro Product Manager, reveals the new interactions inside CS7: integration of Speedgrade's engine into Premiere Pro, Cinema 4D's one into After Effects and the conversion of Photoshop files into looks in Speedgrade, among others…).
This is it for the highlights of the Supermeet Show that, like every year, ends with a spectacular raffle giving out hundreds of prizes, from plugins to machines, generously offered by the numerous sponsors, featuring the whole Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve System which includes the famous huge surface control of the manufacturer!
It's already 11 pm, I'm gonna join my friends at the AJA party set at the Marquee Hotel, and soon it'll be time to take my plane back to New York…
So, a breathtaking first NAB Show, on the american scale, far from our national shows: can't wait next year and will definitely plan a few days around to take full advantage of this fabulous show!
